For me, resilience is the willingness to get back up after life has knocked me down.

My name is Miek. I’m 61, and at the end of 2023 my partner and I left our life in the Netherlands and travelled to South America with just a suitcase and a backpack. We knew that if we didn’t take this step then, we probably never would.

While travelling through Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Panama, we met many people who were searching — young and old. People who sensed there was more to life, but didn’t know how to find their direction. Through countless conversations, moments of doubt, stillness and starting over, one thing became very clear to me: our personality often tries to keep us safe, but in doing so it can pull us away from our deeper purpose.

My work has grown out of lived experience. Out of falling down, getting back up, and learning to listen more deeply. I support people who feel that their old way of living or working no longer fits, and who are willing to slow down and reconnect — from the inside out.
